J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is a leading global financial services firm with operations in more than 50 countries. The business unites two firms that have played formative roles in global finance.

Inenco were appointed to undertake a feasibility study of site power generation for load management purposes. Security of supply is critical to the premises operation as a financial centre.

The Solution

Inenco undertook a detailed investigation and recommended that JPMC utilise their existing standby generation facilities to produce electricity at times when it is cost effective to do so. Inenco project managed the installation of sophisticated systems to allow the plant to operate in parallel with the mains supply and to be controlled remotely. Inenco also provide advice on when it is cost effective to generate, depending on market conditions.

Results

The project allowed a coherent strategy to be implemented with the minimum of disruption to normal operations. Annual savings of around £130,000 are being achieved. Inenco’s brief also includes the negotiation of JP Morgan Chase’s electricity and natural gas supply arrangements.
