Energy Consultancy
Inenco’s energy consultancy team has a wide range of capabilities and experience, gained from conducting thousands of energy surveys across a range of business sectors. We adopt an extremely pragmatic approach to implementing projects and are always mindful that the return on investment is critical to the success of any scheme.
The range of energy services can be broadly broken down into the following areas:
Follow links for further information.
These would be wide ranging surveys of energy, water or telecommunications use aimed at finding opportunities for making savings both by improved housekeeping and by sensible investment in new plant or equipment. Whilst the studies would normally be “in-depth” on larger sites, Clients often look for a lower cost, more superficial overview as the first step.
Usually commissioned to carry out an in depth investigation of a specific opportunity to decide on its technical and economic merit. Typical studies carried out by Inenco have been into new factory heating systems, boiler plant replacement, combined heat and power, site bore holes for local water production, telephone switchboard replacements, installation of structured wiring systems, integration of voice/data communications, waste minimisation, and contaminated land investigations.
These would normally be commissioned as a study to try to resolve a particular problem, and can involve expert witness studies.
Inenco has considerable experience of project management across a wide technical spectrum including new boilerplants (steam and hot water), decentralised heating systems, combined heat and power (engine/gas turbine), power generation plants (largest 6MW on a greenfield site), building energy management systems, boreholes/water treatment plants, waste compactors, new telephone and structured cabling systems, etc.
These are designed to take a higher level view of policy setting, staff issues, etc to provide a framework policy which will give control of utility use into the future. By its nature this usually involves discussions at Director/Senior Manager level and overlaps with mainstream Business Management Consultancy.
This is tailored to meet the needs of an individual Client and can range from simply sitting in as an external advisor on internal “committee” meetings, through monitoring and targeting, organisation and management of maintenance contractors etc.
By this route Companies have all the benefits of the resources and skill base of a specialist organisation, usually at a significantly lower cost than setting up an "in-house" operation.
In this area Inenco will take over responsibility for the management of defined existing facilities on a site, or the installation of new plant, often with financial support (both from Inenco’s own resources and through a range of leasing options) including operation and maintenance. Inenco has been active in this area since the mid 1980’s and has both public and private sector Clients. One well publicised contract, which is still active, involved the installation of the first 1MW gas turbine combined heat and power scheme in the UK at the Stockport site of McVities.
