Metering & Data Services
Inenco provide a complete range of energy and utility metering and data collection solutions, all aimed at putting you back in control of your costs. Typical projects include:
All electricity supplies with a demand in excess of 100kW are required to have half hourly (HH) metering equipment that can be remotely interrogated. It is the consumer’s responsibility to appoint a meter operator who supplies and maintains the metering system and communications link. The charges for this service are often recovered via the chosen electricity supplier’s bill.
There is an active and extremely competitive market for meter operation services within the UK and many customers, particularity those with large estates, can achieve significant cost savings and service enhancements by sourcing a national meter operation agreement.
Since 1998, consumers have had the right to nominate their own data collector/aggregator (DC/DA). Many customers have not taken advantage of this opportunity, leaving their chosen electricity supplier to appoint their preferred provider. There are significant advantages to be gained by nominating your own data collector/aggregator including enhanced data provision often at little/no extra cost.
Inenco can advise on all aspects of meter operation, data collection and data aggregation services, including sourcing national agreements, service specifications and benchmarking of costs.
When the level of detail provided by the main meter is insufficient for your requirements, you need to consider sub-metering.
There are many cost effective solutions available today enabling the metering of individual areas within a larger building and using a variety of communication methods including, mains signalling, radio, local area network (LAN).
Typical applications include:
- Energy Management
- Cost Centre Allocation
- Tenant billing
Inenco can advise on all aspects of sub metering, including design, project management and ongoing service provision.
Inaccurate and infrequent meter readings are often a problem for other utility areas including, gas, water, trade effluent.
